ALERT: January 19, 2025 Parking Ban Starts at 6 PM
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area starting Sunday, January 19 at 1 PM through Monday, January 20 at 7 AM. Approximately 4″ to 8″ inches of heavy snowfall is expected followed by a deep freeze through next week.
The Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea has issued a Winter Parking Ban. The blue lights will be activated at 12 PM on January 19 and enforcement will start at 6 PM and until further notice. Street parking is prohibited during the parking ban to allow DPW to safely clear roads.
What are the Blue Lights? In Manchester-by-the-Sea we have blue emergency lights that are placed at select intersections throughout Town. These lights are turned on during weather emergencies (ie. snow storms). When the blue lights are on, street parking is prohibited to allow for DPW to safely clear roadways.
The Blue Lights are located at the following intersections:
* Police Station
* Pleasant St. at Pine St.
* Pleasant St. at School St.
* Bridge St. at Harbor St.
Please stay safe! Charge devices, keep vents clear, and avoid travel during the storm if possible. If you have an emergency, dial 911 and the Manchester Police Department and Fire Department will be ready to assist.
