A new school year is HERE!
That’s right, summer is over and Manchester Essex students go back tomorrow (8/30).
Teachers and students may be a bit sad; parents may be a bit happy, but EVERYONE is going to be psyched when motorists –
- Stop for people in crosswalks.
- Slow down in school zones.
- Be vigilant in areas of high pedestrian traffic.
DPW installed new crosswalk signs and crosswalks have been freshly painted around Manchester. Please remember to stop when lights are flashing and pedestrians are in crosswalks. Don’t forget School Zone rules and when School Zone signs are flashing, the speed limit is 20 mph so please Slow down.
Pedestrians and bicyclists, please look both ways and wait to cross roadways when safe. Utilize sidewalks and crosswalks whenever available. The Manchester By-the-Sea Police Department will have extra patrols in school zones to ensure the motoring public and pedestrians are getting along just fine. Please be aware and follow the traffic laws, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Chief Todd Fitzgerald and the entire Manchester-By-the-Sea Police Department would like to wish all students, teachers & parents a GREAT school year.
