The National Weather Service has issued the following advisories ahead of the impending winter storm on Monday, March 13:
- Winter Weather Advisory for Eastern Essex County with a snowfall potential of 1″-6″ depending on the track of the storm.
- High Wind Warning for Eastern Essex County with gusts ranging from 55-65 mph.
- Coastal Flooding Advisory for Eastern Essex County during high tide cycles.
The blue lights will be turned on at 8 AM on Tuesday, March 14 for a Winter Parking Ban. Enforcement of the parking ban will begin at 4 PM. Street parking will not be permitted while the parking ban is activated. Parking will be available behind Town Hall (please note this is at your own risk due to the increased flood risk), Norwood Ave lot, Brook Street Lot or Sweeney Park.
What can you do to prepare:
- Charge all devices in case of power outages.
- Contact National Grid to report power outages at 1-800-465-1212 or visit https://www1.nationalgridus.com/outages
- Please check on your elderly neighbors.
- Town Hall and the Police Station will be open as warming/charging stations if needed.
- Dial 911 in the event of an emergency and the Manchester Police and Fire Departments will be here to serve you.
