Overnight on-street parking is allowed during the winter months, unless a snow emergency has been declared resulting in a parking ban. In the event the Chief of Police declares a snow emergency, blue lights at six locations around Town will be turned on and will remain on for the duration of the snow emergency.
The blue lights are located in the following places:
- Police Station front entrance (above the door and to the right)
- Summer Street at Sweeney Park (on the front of the
garage above the door) - Intersection of School Street and Pleasant Street (located on
an electrical pole on the corner in front of the cemetery) - Intersection of Pine Street and Pleasant Street (located on
an electrical pole on the corner in front of the cemetery) - Intersection of Bridge Street and Harbor Street
- Intersection of Summer Street and Beach Street (on electrical pole)
Violations of the on-street overnight parking ban are punishable by a fine of $35. The ban also includes sidewalks. Vehicles that pull onto the sidewalk to get off the street will be ticketed.
