Please see the following bulletin from the Halloween Committee:
Halloween is one of those holidays we remember as a child. The planning of the costume, the time at the Halloween Party and trick-or-treating are all fond memories. In 2019, there needs to be changes in our traditional Halloween plans to keep all safe from mosquito bourn illnesses.
THE TOWN HALLOWEEN PARTY: The party will be held at the Memorial School starting at 4:30 p.m. ending at 6:00 p.m. The party will feature balloon creations by MO, face painters to make additions to children’s costumes and pizza and drinks for all. All hobgoblins will receive a goodie bag with a glowstick before leaving the party. The party is a drop-in event, so visit the Memorial School anytime during the party.
TRICK-OR-TREATING: Trick-or-treating in Manchester has always been fun for the children. This year, due to mosquito bourn illnesses (EEE and West Nile Virus) and the lack of a hard frost (28 degrees or less for 4 hours), the Board of Health recently voted “outdoor trick-or-treating in Manchester should be completed by 5:30 p.m. to reduce the risk of mosquito exposure”. The recommended trick-or-treating times are 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
If any residents wish to bring trick-or-treat goodies to pass out to the area outside the front doors of the Memorial School from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. please join in the Halloween party. PLEASE REMEMBER – no candy with tree nuts, peanuts or peanut butter at the school site.
The changes are made with the goal of safety for all, children and adults, in mind. Please help us in allowing all to have fun, just in a limited time period.
Thanks,
The Halloween Committee
