Manchester Police Seeks Reserve Police Officer

The Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea is currently seeking qualified, highly motivated applicants for the position of Reserve Police Officer. The Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Department is an accredited agency with the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission.
The ability to function in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to multitask is a must. Candidates must also have the highest integrity, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to solve problems quickly in high stress situations. All eligible applicants will be expected to pass an extensive background investigation as part of the hiring process.
The Reserve Police Officer will be expected to perform all applicable police functions, to include enforcement of MA General Laws, to include Ch.90 M/V Law. In addition, candidates will assist with filling scheduling needs, to include shift work, including some weekends and holidays. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma, possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license, currently possess or have the ability to possess a Class A Firearms License, and have a current graduation certificate from an approved MPTC Reserve Recruit Academy. Candidates will also be required to obtain and maintain a CPR/First Responder certification.
